Power Finale Comes From the Poorest Part of Writer’s Creativity

Editor’s note: contains spoilers
They say this is a big, rich town, yeah, yeah. And I just come from the poorest part, oh. Bright lights, city life, I gotta make it. This is where it goes down, yeah (yeah, yeah). I just happen to come up hard (come up hard). Legal or illegal, baby, I gotta make it. Many of you have been following the show Power since 2014, starring Omari Hardwick as James “Ghost” St Patrick, Joseph Sikora as Tommy Egan, and Naturi Naughton as Tasha St Patrick. For this very reason many, myself included, felt let down when we tuned in Sunday night at 8 o’clock to watch how the ending would go.
For all you people who didn’t watch, this is a spoiler. In the end we find out it was Tariq, Ghost’s son, who shot Ghost. So all you conspiracy theorists and people who thought the ending would be complicated, it in fact was not. Personally, I didn’t care about the fact that Ghost died, I just didn’t want Tasha to go to jail especially for Tariq because who likes Tariq anyway? Tariq’s character is the most annoying character on the show besides maybe Holly. Tariq is such a spoiled little whiny brat. His hatred for Ghost is unnecessary. I feel like the writers made all this tension between Ghost and Tariq for no reason. If anything Tasha should be the most angry at Ghost, but she doesn’t care about him.
If I were the writer, I would’ve come up with a way better ending. I promise people on Twitter and Instagram were writing better endings than professional writers. Theories range from Kanan to Tommy to Tasha’s new boyfriend. Hopefully Power writers will be able to redeem themselves in the Power spin offs: Power Book II: Ghost, Power Book III: Raising Kanan, Power Book IV: Influence, and Power Book V: Force.Power Book II: Ghost, Power Book III: Raising Kanan, Power Book IV: Influence, and Power Book V: Force.
